Today, on World AIDS Day, we stand together to honor and support those affected and infected by HIV. At the forefront of this fight is GOA, a beacon of hope for many, providing love, care, and medical support to individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
One of GOA’s most impactful initiatives is Beat The Drum Children’s Home, which has been a safe haven since 2007 for children who are living with HIV. Today, Beat The Drum is home to 38 incredible children, each with their own story of resilience and strength. Over 50 children have passed through these doors, receiving not only essential medical care, but also the love and nurturing they need to thrive.
The name “Beat The Drum” is a powerful reminder of Africa’s history—where drumming was once a vital means of communication. In the same way, Beat The Drum Children’s Home serves as a call to action for our community to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and ensure that children living with HIV are not only cared for, but also cherished.
This World AIDS Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to the children at Beat The Drum and others living with HIV. It is essential that we continue to provide them with the resources, care, and love they deserve. By supporting initiatives like these, we help to create a world where every child has the opportunity to live a full, healthy life, free from stigma and discrimination.
Together, we can make a difference. Let’s Beat the Drum for awareness, compassion, and a future where HIV is no longer a barrier to hope.
#GivingTuesday on Dec 3rd presents many opportunities to make a lasting difference. Your support will create lasting change in the lives of these children, helping them to live, learn, and grow with dignity.
